Social Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu is urging communities to speak out against domestic violence.
She reiterates that shelters will be opened for women and children during the lockdown. Speaking with the media Zulu said that our shelters are open to those that are
finding themselves with this difficulty when they call the number that we have given.
A GBV Command Centre will operate 24 hours and community members are using the line to report any abuse.
The number is 0800 428 428.
Meanwhile, the South African Council of Churches is warning that domestic
